Study and training facilities

International University College (IUC) has a fully equipped modern building located in the very centre of Dobrich.
On an area of 4,647 square metres, there are classrooms with over a thousand seats in total. There are larger rooms which can seat 100, 60, 40 or 30 people, and smaller rooms (20 seats) – for the PBL/CBL sessions. Each room allows internet access. There is a computer lab on each floor, and on the first floor are the library, the bookshop, and the copy centre.
IUC has three computer rooms equipped with over 80 PCs, 15 printers, copiers, and the required software applications for the various majors such as the booking systems Clock and Fidelio, the Clock restaurant management software, and other software packages related to accounts, finance and management.
The special ramp and two lifts make the building accessible for people with disabilities.

IUC is one of the few higher schools in the country which have their own study and training facilities. The students in Hospitality management can receive practical training in restaurant Albena on the third floor. The restaurant’s kitchen is also used as a student training facility. The dining hall seats 150 – 200 people. Therefore, the kitchen, the dining hall and the bar provide real life environment for traineeships, which helps students master the niceties of the profession.

Besides restaurant Albena, IUC operates facilities in the summer resort of Albena (bistro Academica and eight hotel rooms), entertainment complex Summer theatre in Dobrich (2 restaurants, cocktail bar and barbecue, 10 hotel rooms, and an outdoor theatre with 2,000 seats). The complex Summer theatre, located on an area of 6,000 sq. m., is in the Town park and about 5-minute walk from the school’s building. IUC manages the facility after signing (in 2002) a 25-year concession contract with the Municipality of Dobrich. It has proved to be an excellent place for traineeships in hospitality and marketing. The outdoor theatre is often used by students as a venue for various events such as happenings, parties, concerts and discos.

A few firms within the structure of IUC, such as the Accounting and Consultancy House Inter Ltd. and the tour agency, can also be considered parts of the school’s training facilities. Students can do their traineeships there, under the supervision and guidance of experienced specialists.
IUC has 10 offices for research and administration. All offices for the teaching staff are equipped with PCs and there is unlimited Internet access at every working place.
